We are pleased to announce that following a successful testnet, Picipo is now live on NEAR Protocol mainnet.
Our acquaintance with NEAR Protocol began in December 2020. At that time, we were not looking for some additional blockchains or side-chains for the Picipo platform, but as they say, all the best things happen unexpectedly.
It was in December that we met the cool guys from NEAR and immediately decided to add NEAR to Picipo. I will not argue our actions with some technological features of NEAR. You probably already know that NEAR is an easy-to-use protocol that allows developers to easily and quickly create applications; has unlimited scalability; and dApps built on NEAR run on top of the core layer. Moreover, when comparing NEAR and Ethereum, NEAR has a number of advantages: transactions are processed faster, and commissions are negligible.
We have never written smart contracts using Rust before and this was our first experience. But as you can see now, we succeeded! It was really exciting: if we didn’t find the answers to our questions in the documentation, by the way, NEAR’s documentation is quite detailed, we were very quickly helped by the NEAR community as we received almost instant responses in thematic developer channels.
In general, NEAR pays huge attention to its community and this is really serious work. We, as developers, first got to know the NEAR team, and a little bit later, its community. And you know what? This is something extraordinary! We fully realized that we want to become a part of this ecosystem and stay there as long as possible!
For now, we confidently declare to all our partners that NEAR is a very cool team, open and extremely competent! And if you decide to implement your project there, believe me, you will love it!

👉Connect your NEAR wallet. If you don’t have a NEAR wallet, please check instructions on how to create one HERE.
FOR DIGITAL ARTISTS
👉Fill out your profile (share information about yourself, provide links to your social networks, upload an avatar and a profile background).
👉Create an application to become a creator, for this you need to upload your artworks and preferably tell a little about yourself.
👉After you become a creator, you can submit your artwork for moderation in order to mint it on the platform. Please note that our platform has decentralised moderation, we talked about it HERE.
👉Once your artwork has been accepted, you can mint it on the platform. To do this, you need to set the royalty, add co-authors, if needed, and set the price.
👉After your artwork is purchased, the funds will be sent to your wallet.
FOR COLLECTORS
👉Choose the artwork you want to buy and buy it.
👉If the artwork you like is not for sale, you can make an offer to buy it to its owner. If the offer is accepted, it becomes yours.
